ACME Seminar 2022 – Resilient Buildings Design
On November 9, 2021, the ACME Seminar 2022 program was approved by the AUIC School – Politecnico di Milano. The ACME Seminar is an international knowledge exchange course between the Politecnico di Milano and the Technical University of Graz related to the “Agreement on strategic partnership, first signed on November 21st, 2014, between Politecnico di Milano and Graz University of Technology”.
The sixth edition will explore the theme of resilient buildings, with a particular focus on façades. In the first week, the participants will focus on resilient buildings design, developing an assigned case study and taking into account the use of local and sustainable materials, as well as their environmental impact, the influence of the environmental context and the building behaviour in case of extreme atmospheric events. In the second week, the workshop will aim to guide the students towards the development of the construction management process (Project Management, Operative Maintenance, Life Cycle Cost, Life Cycle Assessment, Calculation of the Carbon Footprint, etc.).
