Towards façade sustainability in Lisbon

Façades 2025 – Towards Sustainability will take place on 6 June 2025 at the CCB – Cultural Center of Belém – in Lisbon, which is one of the most renowned cultural institutions in Portugal, recognized for its program rich in eclectic and international cultural events.

The conference will gather façade industry experts for a day of insights, networking, and knowledge exchange with global leaders in sustainable façades guided by the host Daniel Aelenei (PhD, Director of Facade Engineering studies at FCT NOVA).

Aimed at investigating the prospects of sustainable building design, with a particular focus on building façades and envelopes, the event will explore topics such as smart technologies, innovative materials and adaptive façade systems aimed at enhancing energy efficiency and climate resilience.

The conference will be an opportunity for leading engineers, architects and researchers to share the most cutting-edge projects in the field, emerging trends and state-of-the-art technologies, and to analyze how these solutions are shaping the next generation of sustainable buildings, both for new and renovated façades.

The conference is organized by the NOVA School Of Science and Technologies of Lisbon, its Centre of Technologies and Systems, and the European Façade Network, supported by LNEC – Laboratório Nacional de Engenharia Civil, LNEG – Laboratório Nacional de Energia e Geologia and ANFAJE.
